Job: Postdoctoral Research Associates
Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ)
Department of Mechanical Engineering

The Micro Scale Thermo Fluids (MSTF) Laboratory in the Mechanical Engineering Program at Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ), invites applications for Postdoctoral Research Associate positions in the field of a) Micro/Nano Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer or b) Super Critical Flow Study.

These are full-time positions; the initial appointment will be for one year and may be extended for up to three years.

TAMUQ is a branch campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

Micro Fluidic Research includes setting up and conducting experiments in micro fluidic systems, to study the heat transfer characteristics of Nanofluids and Nano Fluidics. The Super Critical Flow project seeks to investigate, at both the fundamental and applied levels, the thermal hydraulic (heat transfer and fluid dynamics) behaviors of supercritical fluids.

We are looking for self-motivated individuals, who have extensive experimental experience in Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer.

Successful candidates will work under the supervision of a Faculty for conducting experimental research and interacting with academia and industry. In addition to traditional laboratory equipments, candidates should be comfortable in operating data acquisition, optical microscope, high speed camera and laser systems. Knowledge of advanced velocimetry and thermometry methods, such as PIV, PIT, LDV, MTV and LIF, is also desired.

Successful candidates will be responsible for preparing appropriate laboratory procedures and all aspects of the daily operation of the experimental set up. Publishing in scientific conferences and journals is strongly encouraged.

Minimum academic requirement is a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. Special consideration will be given to candidates who have expertise in Experimental Fluid Mechanics, with research experience in Micro Scale and Supercritical Flow Studies. Experience with computer programming and data processing algorithms is preferable.

Highly qualified candidates with Master's Degrees may be considered.
