The College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT) at Oklahoma State University (OSU) seeks candidates for the position of Head of the School of Architecture. The School of Architecture has programs in both Architecture and Architectural Engineering that has a regional, national and international reputation of excellence. Successful candidates should have a distinguished record of scholarship, teaching, and leadership in either Architectural Engineering or Architecture; a record of leadership in the profession; proven administrative and financial management abilities; an aspirational outlook for leading the school that enhances its graduates and reputation; and outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will possess the qualifications required for the rank of Professor, serve as a strong advocate and fully support the mission of the School of Architecture to prepare future architects and architectural engineers to make vital contributions to humanity through the creation of architecture.
Oklahoma State University is located in the heart of the southern plains in Stillwater, Oklahoma, within a one-hour drive from both Oklahoma City and Tulsa, with commercial air service within minutes of the campus. The School currently has 19 tenured and tenure-track faculty positions. One of the unique strengths of the OSU School of Architecture is the combination of programs, faculty and students in architecture and architectural engineering, and its interdisciplinary interactions with OSU’s 6 Schools of Engineering and the programs within the Division of Engineering Technology. The five-year NAAB-accredited Bachelor of Architecture degree is designed to provide an outstanding education to students wishing to enter the professional practice of architecture. The five-year ABET-accredited Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree provides a professional education to engineering students in building-related systems. These two curricula are integrated such that architecture students graduate with significant technical abilities and architectural engineering students gain an in-depth knowledge and appreciation of the creative and collaborative approach of architecture.
