The University of Central Florida (UCF) is focused on increasing the prominence of its Industrial Engineering and Management Systems Department (IEMS) (http://www.iems.ucf.edu) by developing a world-class industrial engineering program. Applications are invited for a tenure-earning assistant professor or a tenured associate or full professor position in IEMS, to begin in August 2018. To be considered for the associate professor or full professor rank, applicants should have established a vibrant, externally funded, Ph.D. level research program and have made significant progress towards establishing a national/international reputation, including publications in the best journals in their field(s) of study. In order to obtain tenure, the selected candidate must have a demonstrated record of teaching, research and service commensurate with the rank.

The Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Systems is one of the most dynamic industrial engineering departments in the world. IEMS provides outstanding undergraduate education, engages in collaborative and multidisciplinary research, and offers excellent graduate programs that appeal to students of diverse interests and backgrounds. Because of their outstanding technical and creative abilities, our graduates are nationally and internationally recognized as productive contributors to the overall global economy.

Located in the Orlando metropolitan area, UCF has over 66,000 students, making it one of the largest universities in the United States. The Fall 2014 freshmen class for the College of Engineering and Computer Science had an average high school GPA of 3.95, SAT score of 1285, and ACT score of 28.1. This class also included 86 National Merit Scholars. There is a large research park located adjacent to the university, as well as the Kennedy Space Center, power plants, and large and small utilities in the metropolitan area. We encourage you to learn more about UCF at http://www.ucf.edu/ and the College of Engineering and Computer Science at http://www.cecs.ucf.edu.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution at the time of appointment.

  • Applicants who have either demonstrated, or shown a clear potential for, creative and independent research that would lead to strong extramurally funded research with development of inclusive and diverse partnerships and national recognition.
  • Demonstrated (or potential for) teaching proficiency.

UCF requires all applications and supporting documents to be submitted electronically through the Human Resources website, www.jobswithucf.com.
