Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Worldwide, Department of Engineering and Technology invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in the mechanical engineering field. Experience in engineering disciplines such as modeling and simulation, robotics, electromechanical systems, and UAV design is desired. Experience in a multidisciplinary field such as systems engineering is highly desirable.

Duties will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the Engineering, Engineering Technology and Systems Engineering fields. Courses will be taught via traditional classroom delivery and via established hybrid and online learning technologies. Duties will also include curriculum development, research, student advising, grant writing, and service to the University, profession, and community.

The Department of Engineering and Technology currently features a graduate degree in Systems Engineering, an Associate of Science in Engineering Fundamentals degree, a B.S. in Engineering Technology degree; the Department also supports minor and specialty courses of study in Engineering Science that are part of other Worldwide Campus degree programs. A Ph.D. in Aviation program was launched in January 2010. A new B.S. in Engineering degree is under development and will launch in Aug of 2017. While this program is a general engineering degree, it is firmly rooted in the mechanical engineering discipline. In addition to its Worldwide on-campus education programs, the University has a large online education program, with a student body (both on campus and online) comprised largely of highly motivated career professionals seeking a degree for professional advancement or personal interest. The student body is composed of active duty military personnel, those currently employed by the aviation/aerospace industry, individuals with a deep interest in aviation, and (with the newer undergraduate engineering and engineering technology degrees) traditional students who are recent secondary school graduates. Our student body also has a strong international component with both on-campus and online students from a number of nations.
