Applications are invited for 3 postdoctoral research fellowships at the Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering (MEE), Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), Shenzhen, China. The successful candidates will join the Advanced Plasma Manufacturing Laboratory (APML), and will be working mainly with Dr Hui Deng (Assistant Professor).
Project descriptions:
Projects are available in the areas of (but not limited to):
1) Plasma-assisted machining of wide band gap semiconductor materials;
2) Atmospheric pressure plasma deposition;
3) Atmospheric pressure plasma modification;
4) Plasma medicine;
5) Plasma spectroscopy.

Qualifications
Applicants should be of outstanding quality and exceptionally motivated, and should have
1) A PhD degree in one of the following majors or directions: Mechanical engineering, Material, Chemistry, Physics, Medicine, Biology;
2) Strong and demonstrated experience in plasma-related fields;
3) Good publications in peer-reviewed top journals;
4) Be able to use SEM, XRD, XPS, AFM and some other characterization equipments.

Salary and benefits
1) The positions are for two years initially, renewable depending on funding;
2) Annual salary ~ 270k RMB (~ £31k or $39k);
3) Outstanding candidates can apply for the Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship with annual salary of 350k RMB (~ £41k or $50k);
4) A travel grant of 15k RMB per annum for attending academic conferences and workshops, etc.
