The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Memorial University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor in the area of solid mechanics, stress analysis, computational mechanics and/or continuum mechanics commencing May 2018, or shortly thereafter.

Applicants should hold an undergraduate and PhD degrees in mechanical engineering or a cognate area, with the proven ability for excellence in both teaching and research. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to register as a professional engineer in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Duties will include teaching a range of undergraduate and graduate courses, developing laboratory facilities, supervising graduate and undergraduate student research, and undertaking an active, funded research program. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
