Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Calgary under the supervision of Dr. Belostotski.
This position is sponsored by MITACS (www.mitacs.ca) and targets candidates of the highest caliber with track records that would be competitive for prestigious national or international fellowships. The project is supported by an industrial partner and it is expected that some work will take place in Vancouver, BC, Canada in collaboration with the partner.
The successful candidate will perform research in the area of CMOS Ku-band receiver circuit design and optimization with the focus on developing fully integrated Ku-band (10.7-12.75 GHz) Low Noise Block Down converters (LNB) incorporating LNA, mixing, PLL, image rejection, and an IF output stage and targeting satellite applications.
The ideal candidate is required to possess a Ph.D. degree and have a strong practical background in RFIC design. He/She is expected to have practical knowledge of CAD design and simulation tools (Cadence and ADS) and RF measurement instruments. He/she will have access to a wide range of state-of-the-art measurement and fabrication facilities located in the University of Calgary and at the industrial partner site.
The selected candidate will undergo a professional development program in which he/she will be expected to give lectures to graduate students, and be the team leader of the research group working on the above mentioned research area. He/she will be expected to participate in campus‐wide programs of professional development for post‐doctoral fellows.
The position is open till June 15th, 2018 or until a suitable candidate is identified. The anticipated appointment is for a period of one years starting in September 2018.
