COORDINATOR OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING
The University of Texas of the Permian Basin
The Department of Engineering and Technology at The University of Texas of the Permian Basin seeks a Chemical Engineer for a tenure-track faculty position (Associate or Full Professor) and appointment as the Coordinator of Chemical Engineering. The incumbent will be expected to develop a new program in chemical engineering; therefore, preference will be given to those with experience in curriculum development, laboratory design, and ABET accreditation procedures.

Interested applicants must have a doctorate in chemical engineering (or closely related field) along with the experience necessary to establish a new Chemical Engineering program, and obtain its initial ABET accreditation. The University is situated in the heart of the Permian Basin, one of the most important petroleum-producing regions in the world, and faculty often have the opportunity to partner with large companies on problems related to oil production and its associated manufacturing and processing industries.

The finalists for the position may be required to submit a grant proposal to the University of Texas STARs grant program which may offer the successful applicant substantial research start-up funding. More information about the STARs program can be found at https://www.utsystem.edu/offices/academic-affairs/stars-program.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Review of applications will begin on October 2. More information about the Department of Engineering can be found at: http://www.utpb.edu/cobe/academic-disciplines/engineering-and-technology/petroleum-engineering . All interested applicants should complete the application and submit their materials to Dr. Forrest Flocker, flocker_f@utpb.edu. Applicants are to submit a cover letter and CV and complete contact information for at least three references. The position is expected to be filled by January 1, 2018. Questions regarding the search may be addressed to the chair of the Engineering and Technology, Dr. Forrest Flocker at flocker_f@utpb.edu.
