Environmental Engineering:

The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Memphis is seeking candidates for a tenure-track faculty appointment in civil engineering at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Applicants with backgrounds in all areas of environmental engineering are encouraged to apply, but areas of particular interest include biological process engineering; microbial processes for nutrient removal and for energy and resource recovery; analysis of surface water and ground water systems and their protection from industrial, commercial, and agricultural activities; advancement of human hazard assessment; advanced water treatment technologies to assure high-quality drinking water; urban water challenges; and sustainable environmental infrastructure.

Candidates must have a doctoral degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a closely related field, and must demonstrate a clear potential for creative, interdisciplinary, and independent research that would lead to a strong, externally funded research program with national and international recognition. Candidates must also show a strong desire to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
