The Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering invites applications and nominations for tenure track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor. Positions at higher ranks will also be considered for applicants with exceptional stature and professional record. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise and interest in:

a) Robotics or mechatronics; b) Combustion, propulsion, or power systems; c) Computational aeroelasticity or fluid-structure interaction.

Duties & Responsibilities Successful candidates will be expected to teach in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to establish active, externally funded, research programs. Previous teaching experience is expected for senior candidates, and desirable in all cases.

Faculty in our department also participate in outreach and contribute to departmental, college, and university service. Our faculty also help to develop innovative approaches to enhancing student engagement, increasing diversity, and expanding collaborations with community and business partners.

Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline and demonstrated research potential or accomplishments.

Preferred Qualifications Previous teaching experience is preferred. Desired specific skills/disciplines include, but are not limited to, experience in: a) Robotics or mechatronics; b) Combustion, propulsion, or power systems; c) Computational aeroelasticity or fluid-structure interaction.
