The Opportunity

Are you an enthusiastic lecturer committed to creating a dynamic learning environment with a desire to contribute to the development and delivery of courses in Civil Engineering? If so, Monash University has just the role for you! We are seeking two dedicated researchers and communicators to fulfil the roles of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering.

In this position, you will conduct research and teaching of the highest international quality in a team of like-minded individuals. With support from the faculty you will attract funding to undertake research and recruit and supervise postgraduate students. You will contribute to research in the area of urban water infrastructure, specifically green water treatment technologies. This includes experimental research in the areas of wetlands, bio-filters, green walls and green rooves. The faculty is currently investing $5M into a new facility to support experimentally based research in this area.

You will also undertake academic duties such as developing teaching material, teaching large and small classes, supervising honours and postgraduate research projects, and acting as an adviser for undergraduates.

To be successful in this role you will have a PhD qualification in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or a closely related field, with the ability to effectively develop and deliver teaching materials.
