The Maroun Semaan Faculty of Engineering & Architecture (MSFEA) at the American University of Beirut (AUB) invites applications for Research Liaison and Outreach Officer position as part of the expansion plans of the newly-endowed Faculty. The Research Liaison and Outreach Officer will establish strategic partnerships with industry and alumni and other institutions of higher learning. S/he will also interact with local, regional and international grade schools. The primary mission of this position is to increase the extent and breadth of MSFEA research collaboration with alumni, industry, governments, and leading academic institutions, and to enhance MSFEA’s ability to recruit talented doctoral students internationally and increase applications of female students into the under-represented undergraduate engineering disciplines. Candidates should be experienced professionals with a bachelor degree in engineering or architecture, and preferably holders of a master’s degree. Candidates with work experience in academia and industry are particularly encouraged to apply. This position requires travel.
With a total enrollment of approximately 2800 undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students, MSFEA is comprised of approximately 100 professorial rank and 60 part-time faculty members, and houses six departments: Architecture and Design, Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Mechanical Engineering, and graduate programs in Biomedical Engineering and Urban Design, Planning, and Policy. Our undergraduate engineering degree programs are ABET accredited.
Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut bases its educational philosophy, standards, and practices on the American liberal arts model of higher education.
