Assistant Professor – Visiting

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Cleveland State University invites applications for a visiting assistant professor or visiting instructor position. The position is for the 2017-2018 academic year, with possibility for a 1-year renewal.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in the areas of thermodynamics, heat transfer, combustion, and general engineering. The successful candidate will be required to teach four courses of 3 or 4 credit hours per semester. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field for appointment as visiting instructor.

Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field for appointment as visiting assistant professor. Experience in teaching undergraduate mechanical engineering courses in the area of thermal/fluids, energy and combustion systems, experience in teaching laboratory courses, excellent communications skills and industrial experience and the ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community.
