The Center of Integrated Biomedical and Bioengineering Research (CIBBR) at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) has openings of a postdoctoral fellowship available for immediate start. The CIBBR is an NIH-funded multi-disciplinary research team consisting of faculty members in biology, psychology, genetics, biochemistry, chemical engineering, and electrical engineering. The Center also works closely with our external collaborators including Harvard, the Broad Institute, and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Each postdoctoral position and the corresponding project is detailed below.

An ideal candidate should hold a Ph.D. in engineering, chemistry, or a related field and have experience in electrochemistry. Project Description:
Cross-reactive Sensor Array for Metabolomic Diagnostics, The principal investigator of this project is Jeffrey M. Halpern in the Department of Chemical Engineering at UNH. Cross-reactive sensing is a signature-based profiling technique; multiple biomarkers are monitored simultaneously for disease diagnosis. As part of this project, a novel ex vivo cross-reactive sensor array will be developed, tested, and evaluated. The new sensor array will be trained to detect a chemical profile associated with Major Depressive Disorder by creating a blood sample assay. Eventually, we will adapt this technology to other diseases as well. In general, our lab hopes to develop low-cost and high-throughput ex vivo point-of-care diagnostic tools. The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas: electrochemistry, surface chemistry and analysis, microfabrication, multivariate analysis, biosensors, and metabolomics.
