The Department of Civil & Architectural Engineering (CAE) at Lawrence Technological University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in the area of electrical building systems and lighting starting August 2025. The candidate should possess qualifications in areas related to power systems, energy efficiency in buildings, renewable energy integration, building controls, lighting design and integration of building systems.

The Department of Civil & Architectural Engineering (CAE) at LTU offers B.S. to Ph.D. and is dedicated to excellence in research, teaching and service. The department hosts three major research centers: Nabil Grace Center for Innovative Material Research (CIMR) – a 7,200-square-foot facility with unique capabilities, Lawrence Tech Transportation Institute (LTTI), and Construction Safety Research Center (CSRC), all of which support active and dynamic funded research programs.
Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Architectural Engineering or Electrical Engineering, a proven track record of funded research and demonstrated excellence in teaching. Practical engineering experience in the area of electrical power design for building applications, and/or professional licensure are highly desirable.
