In the Environmental Microbial Biofilm Biotechnology (EMBB) research group, we focus our research efforts on understanding biofilm-mediated environmental processes and harnessing the power of microbial biofilms to address environmental issues. We are looking for a highly motivated Project Officer (PO) with an interest in biofilm-plastic interaction. The PO is expected to publish high-quality journal papers to promote the international reputation of the group and the University.
The PO will work on a project aiming to understand how biofilms interact with plastics in marine environments and use the insights to develop novel biotechnologies to upcycle plastic wastes.

Job requirements:

BSc/BEng in environmental microbiology, microbial biotechnology or a related field.

Hands-on experience in molecular cloning.

A strong interest in interdisciplinary research.

Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with group members and collaborators.

Good oral and written communication skills in English - essential for data analysis and communication with stakeholders
