The Department of Civil Engineering is seeking outstanding candidates for a tenure track faculty position in Sustainable Water at the Assistant Professor level. The appointee will contribute to the development of a green Civil Engineering Program and must be motivated and skilled to conduct engineering work towards reducing environmental impacts of human activities. Candidates are expected to demonstrate excellence in research, graduate student supervision, and teaching. An exceptional research record is required including substantial recent publications in top-tier venues.

Scholarly expertise in the area of surface water hydrology or hydraulics is required, with research related to climate change being an asset. The successful applicant will be expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise graduate students, establish an active research program, and participate in the academic affairs of the university. Ability to teach undergraduate courses in hydrology & hydraulics and fluid mechanics is required.

Candidates for the position must have a Ph.D in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering, or a related field, together with excellent verbal and written communication, and experience of collaboration with colleagues of engineering and non-engineering backgrounds. Candidates must be registered as a professional engineer or be eligible for and committed to registration.
