The Department of Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo was the first-of-its-kind in Canada, hosting the most flexible undergraduate programs and interdisciplinary areas of research. Systems design covers the technical, biomedical, environmental, socioeconomic and political aspects of the engineering process using systems design methodology. The department has approximately 35 professors, 11 staff, and is part of the largest engineering faculty in Canada.
