The School of Transportation Engineering is one of the key colleges in Tongji University and attains international reputation in the field of traffic and transportation engineering. Since the road and railway engineering was founded at the beginning of 1950’s，the school has been developing considerably with a wide range of four subjects at present，and now all of them are the national key subjects . Furthermore，the school has the most advanced national laboratories on road and traffic .
The school has always been the leading one in Tongji University. It has been many times as the first one in the development，such as:

The member of the first PHD program on traffic engineering；
The member of the first class subject for PHD program on traffic engineer；
The member of the first postdoctoral stations，etc.
