MARQUETTE UNIVERSITY, a leading Catholic, Jesuit institution is accepting applications and nominations for OPUS Dean of the College of Engineering, effective immediately.
The successful candidate for this unique opening will occupy the endowed Dean's position, spearhead the new $100 million Discovery Learning Complex currently under construction, and have the opportunity to implement a vision for game-changing engineering education at our distinguished engineering college. The College of Engineering at Marquette is the largest Catholic, Jesuit affiliated engineering college in the country, offering accredited undergraduate and graduate programs through the Ph.D. in the areas of biomedical, civil and environmental, computer, electrical, industrial and mechanical engineering. The college has 55 full-time faculty, 1,000 undergraduate and 300 graduate students, a well-established Cooperative Education program and interdisciplinary efforts with the Medical College of Wisconsin and other Marquette colleges.
As the chief executive officer of the College of Engineering, the dean provides vision, leadership, and resource optimization. Responsibilities include strategic planning, educational and research program development, fiscal management, faculty development as teacher scholars, and recruiting and retaining high-quality students. The dean also represents the College to the broader University, alumni, donors, business and industrial communities, and to the public.
