Position Announcement for Department Head of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering
The University of Wyoming’s College of Engineering and Applied Science invites applications for a faculty position as Department Head of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering.
The Department, one of six in the College, offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Engineering and seeks to further strengthen its undergraduate and graduate programs.
The Department currently has 16 faculty and approximately 50 graduate and 280 undergraduate students.
Opportunities for research collaboration exist with the University of Wyoming School of Energy Resources and the High Plains Gasification Advanced Research Center.
The Head’s responsibilities include providing leadership, vision and assessment of the Department’s undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and sustaining a personal research program.
The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or a closely related field, strong interpersonal and communication skills and a proven record of teaching and research.
The applicant must be eligible for appointment with tenure in the Department as Associate Professor or Professor.
