The University of Alabama Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor levels, in two of our departmental research focus areas: embedded systems and electromechanical systems.
Within these focus areas, we are particularly interested in candidates who will complement or augment existing research efforts including, but not limited, to:

Applicants must have Ph.D.s in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a closely related field by the date of appointment.
Applicants must show the potential to establish a quality research program, collaborate effectively with other faculty and excel in teaching, at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
For consideration as Associate or Full Professor, applicants must demonstrate a strong external funding and publication record, commensurate with these positions.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering currently serves approximately 375 undergraduate and graduate students.
The Department offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees, with ABET-accredited programs, in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering.
ECE faculty are currently active in three research focus areas: Embedded Systems, Electromechanical Systems and Devices and Materials and are involved in multidisciplinary research with faculty from several other disciplines.
The Department will benefit from a major facilities improvement project involving a new science and engineering complex that is currently underway on campus.
