A post doctoral researcher position is open for immediate hiring in the area of "Design of Wireless Sensors for Harsh Enviroments" at Qatar University in Collaboration with McGill University in Canada. The project duration is 3 years. The contract is renewed on a yearly basis.
The position will involve communication algorithms, designs, simulation, and development for wireless sensors operating in very harsh environment (inside jet engines). It will provide a good chance for interaction with academic institutions in Qatar and Canada, interaction with industry, and grant-writing. It is therefore important that the candidate can demonstrate most of the following:
• Strong background in channel modeling, wireless communications theory, RF design, and baseband design.
• Strong knowledge of FPGA, ASIC, and analog IC design methods
• Knowledge of sensors design methodologies
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Very good critical thinking and reasoning
• Self motivation, ability to work independently and a desire to experiment and explore
• Ability to work in a team of diverse backgrounds and cultures
• Solid publication record in top academic conferences and/or journals
