Important messages

Intent of the process

There is an immediate need to staff two (2) indeterminate position in Kingston, Ontario. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions.

Education:

ED1- Specific to the position in Chemical Engineering:
Undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related field. Preference will be given to candidate with an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering

Ph.D. (or one nearing completion – must be confirmed prior to appointment) from a recognized post-secondary institution in chemical engineering, or a closely related field with research experience including publications in refereed journals devoted to chemical engineering, materials, energy, environment or closely related fields.

ED2- Specific to the position in Nuclear Engineering:
Undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related field.

Ph.D. (or one nearing completion – must be confirmed prior to appointment) from a recognized post-secondary institution in nuclear engineering, or a closely related field with research experience including publications in refereed journals devoted to nuclear engineering, materials, energy, environment or closely related fields.

Degree equivalency

Occupational Certification:

OC1- The applicant should be eligible to be licensed as a Professional Engineer in Canada.

Experience:

UT02 positions: Candidates for appointment to this group and level must possess experience that would demonstrate evidence of effective teaching and scholarly ** potential.

UT03 positions: Candidate must possess experience that would demonstrate satisfactory teaching effectiveness over a period of years and demonstrate independent scholarly ** activity over a period of years beyond that of the PhD level.

UT04 positions: Candidate must possess experience that would demonstrate continued satisfactory teaching performance effectiveness over a period of years and demonstrate a continuing record of scholarly ** achievements in his/her scholarly field or discipline and candidate should have experience in effective participation in service to a university.

** Note: Scholarly is defined as publishing in refereed scientific journals in fields related to the position being staffed

Abilities and Skills:

A1 - Ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels within the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
