Project: Modeling Truck Drone Delivery Systems

The recent development of E-commerce through the online shopping has increased the importance of home deliveries. Companies need to come up with creative ways to avoid late deliveries, unmet expectations and broken promises through timely and cost effective deliveries. Today, technologies such as autonomous vehicles, drones, tracking systems and the internet of things are being developed to provide the logistics industry with more effective and efficient delivery solutions. The overall objectives of this project are to develop a mathematical framework for studying a truck-drone delivery system and propose heuristics solutions to solve such logistics distribution problems efficiently.
¥ Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
¥ Proven competence in developing heuristics algorithm using C++;
¥ Demonstrated proficiency in writing technical research papers;
¥ Ability to work independently.
¥ Desired: Doctoral degree in industrial engineering or related discipline.
