Organization Summary:

The Department (http://me.eng.usf.edu) has 22 faculty members and offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering. The Department faculty members have collaborations with all departments in the College of Engineering, as well as the Colleges of Medicine, Arts & Sciences, Marine Science, Education, Nursing, and Public Health. The Department also has strong ties with numerous USF centers, including the Nanotechnology Research and Education Center (http://www.nrec.usf.edu), Center for Urban Transportation Research (https://www.cutr.usf.edu), Center for Assistive Rehabilitation Robotics & Technologies (http://carrt.eng.usf.edu), Clean Energy Research Center (http://cerc.eng.usf.edu), H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, and Global Center for Hearing and Speech Research. We are also in the process of introducing Minor Degree  Program in Aerospace Engineering by Fall 2023, and Major Degree Program in Aerospace Engineering and Dual Major Program in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering by Fall 2024.

Established in 1964 and currently led by Dean Robert H. Bishop, the College of Engineering at the University of South Florida is ranked #57 among public institutions (#92 overall) by U.S. News & World Report’s 2023 engineering graduate school rankings. Position Summary:

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of South Florida invites applications for a 12-month non-tenure track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Instruction level to begin from Aug 7th, 2023. This position requires an earned doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Some of the desired expertise include demonstrated teaching experience at the university level in aerospace and/or space systems, development of new aerospace engineering undergraduate laboratory experiments and the knowledge in ABET accreditation process.

Minimum Qualifications:

The position requires an earned doctorate degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution. The candidates must have a demonstrated record of university level teaching experience in the mechanical/aerospace field.

Preferred Qualifications:

The candidate should have demonstrated excellence in scholarly research, publications, and the potential for teaching large size undergraduate and graduate classes with a strong commitment to mentoring undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds.
