The Department of Computer Science at the University of Central Florida is seeking outstanding candidates for two Instructor or Lecturer positions to teach Computer Science and Information Technology courses. An earned master’s degree in Computer Science or a closely-related discipline from an accredited institution is required. A Ph.D. from an accredited institution and college-level teaching experience are highly preferred. These are nine-month non-tenure-earning positions commencing August 8, 2021. A supplemental summer appointment may be made following an assessment of performance and the teaching needs of the program.
A master’s degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science or a closely related discipline is required for instructor rank. For the lecturer rank, a Ph.D. degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related discipline is required. The required degree must be earned by the time of the appointment.
The responsibilities of the Instructor or Lecturer will be to teach a full time academic load, which consists of up to four courses per semester. The courses may include a variety of topics in our undergraduate Computer Science and Information Technology programs.
Other responsibilities include holding office hours, conducting required academic performance assessments, and development of instructional content for course enhancement.
