The candidate will collaborate with researchers from the Project DEVELOPMENT OF GAS SUPERSONIC SEPARATORS – OPTIMISATION, NUMERICAL SIMULATION AND EXPERIMENTS, project 39 of the Research Centre for Gas Innovation of POLI-USP at the University of São Paulo. The objective is to carry out experiments on CO2 separation systems for gas mixtures using supersonic principles. To do this, the candidate will be directly involved with the experiments, including instrumentation and photographic recording techniques and gas analysis equipment. Also, it is desirable to have knowledge of gas mixing thermodynamics and compressible flow fundamentals.
The applicant will contribute in line with the main objectives of the main project:
1. experiments and modelling of supersonic gas mixtures flow separation.
This project would be well-suited to a highly motivated candidate requiring laboratory measuring techniques, knowledge of fundamental instrumentation a proficiency in English are required.
- The postdoc candidate should hold a PhD in Mechanics, Chemistry or Aeronautics.
The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 7.373,10 monthly payed in Reais and a research contingency fund (technical reserve), equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity, as well as displacement funding, if necessary and applicable. There is the possibility of offering a Research Internship abroad (BEPE) during part of the postdoctoral assignment, if it is of interest to the project.
