The Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) is the satellite campus of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology (Technion). Technion is a world-renowned institution located in Haifa (Israel) that is consistently ranked as a top-100 university and is known for its exceptional research and education. The GTIIT is based in Shantou (Guangdong Province, China) and will become a leading science and technology research university in the coming years. 

About the Open Positions                                                                         
This full-time position refers to GTIIT’s Mechanical Engineering and Robotics Department. We have access to top-tier test facilities to conduct cutting-edge research on fluid-driven robotics. Our main areas of interest are about design, modeling, manufacturing, sensing, and control of both heavy-duty hydraulic manipulators and soft robots. We are hiring a Post-Doc Researcher to support the development of our investigations in this field. This position is available immediately.

The Post-Doc Researcher will receive continuous mentoring and is required to complete the following duties: (1) conduct innovative research under the guidance of a faculty member, (2) develop his/her own research directions to branch off into new areas, (3) publish journal and conference papers with international visibility, and (4) support the preparation of research proposals.

Benefits                                                                                
This position is 100% financially supported and funds are already available. A multi-year extension is welcomed based on the Post-Doc’s performance. An internationally competitive salary starting from 225,000 RMB/year (about 32,700 US$/year) is guaranteed and adjusted to the candidate's qualifications. Travel allowance to professional conferences is included. Generous funds are also available to purchase all the essential tools (equipment, consumables, software, etc.).

Required Job Specifications                                                                 
•    A Ph.D. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or in a related field (essential).
•    Solid experience related to robotics (it can cover design, manufacturing, sensing, and/or control).
•    Good communication skills in English (essential).
•    Ability to author/co-author scientific publications (essential).
•    Experience with both theoretical and applied research (preferred but not required).
