The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department (MAE) at Syracuse University is seeking applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor position with effective start in Fall 2024.
The faculty member is expected to advance the department’s mission by providing excellent instruction at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. A strong commitment to teaching excellence is essential, and preference will be given to a candidate who can teach fundamental courses in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, including but not limited to Dynamics, Structures, Flight Mechanics, Flight Vehicle Design, Materials, Mechanics of Solids, Optimization, Propulsion, and Controls. Applicants are expected to have earned a doctorate or its professional equivalent, in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses; and will participate in all aspects of the department’s mission, including teaching, supervision and advising of undergraduate and graduate students, supervising senior design projects, and carrying out other service responsibilities as directed by the department chair.
