We are seeking a Postdoctoral Appointee to join our organization! On any given day, you may be called on to:
Perform solid mechanics research, development, modeling, and simulation to support Sandia’s national security mission
Develop theory and software to advance regularized failure modeling using the phase field approach
Work closely with experimental mechanics and material science organizations to provide validated results of complex and challenging problems
Publish research advances in peer‐reviewed journals
Demonstrate and document capabilities for internal and external funding agencies (e.g. Department of Defense)
Qualifications We Require
PhD degree in mechanical, civil, aeronautical, applied engineering, or other applicable engineering field
Demonstrated proficiency in computational solid mechanics research with particular emphasis on phase field fracture
Experience with using and developing modeling/simulation tools (e.g. finite element method)
Proficiency with code development in a modern programming language such as C++ or Python
