The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Louisville seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor Term (non-tenure track) position with a tentative start date of January 2022. Ideal candidates will have a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field, a strong grasp of the fundamentals of Chemical Engineering, outstanding communication skills, and a passion for making meaningful, positive contributions to the undergraduate and graduate educational experience. This position emphasizes teaching, particularly in Process Control, Unit Operations, and Safety. Successful candidates should be comfortable teaching a broad range of undergraduate and graduate Chemical Engineering courses. Industry experience is preferred, and the candidate should be able to engage/develop industry relationships to drive undergraduate curriculum development.
The J.B. Speed School of Engineering is home to eight departments and has an enrollment of approximately 2,000 undergraduate students and 700 graduate students. The university has an approximate total enrollment of 22,000. Located between Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Nashville, Louisville is the state’s major metropolitan area with a population of approximately 750,000.
