Research Opportunity

Electrotechnical Engineering

 

Work description

  • Study the current process of collecting consumption data for the INESC TEC building, identifying issues in the system, as well as potential solutions for solving these issues;
  • Update or new development of the data collections process, applying more robust methods that allow for the quick detection and solving of failures in data collection;
  • Database development in Cassandra and API to make data available on Sentinel platform;
  • Development of intuitive dashboards for presenting consumption and generation data, and their respective presentation in a browser environment;
  • Development of the building's Digital Twin, considering data from different energy vectors (e.g. electricity and thermal);
  • Prepare a technical report.

Academic Qualifications

  • Degree in electrical engineering, computer science, applied mathematics or similar.

Minimum profile required

  • Knowledge in one programming language;
  • Basic knowledge in data analysis, ICT and IoT

Preference factors

  • Experience in Python, SQL, C, Apache Cassandra and Grafana;
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)

Maintenance stipend: € 601,12, according to the table of monthly maintenance stipend for FCT grants , paid via bank transfer. Grant holders may be awarded potential supplements, according to a quarterly evaluation process (Articles 19, 21 and 22 of the Regulations for Grants of INESC TEC and Annex II), up to a maximum limit of 50% of the monthly maintenance stipend.
