Reporting to the Director of the Quadracci Sustainable Engineering Lab (QSEL), the incumbent will pursue research activities related to the challenges and solutions of the energy transition. Particular focus will be on the role of the built environment, space heating in cold climates and the role of the electric and gas grids in the energy transition. Effort will also be directed towards the novel grid-interactive control devices for buildings. The incumbent will provide modelling guidance, execution and interpretational strength for understanding the role of evolving loads, flexibility, storage and transmission for system integration. The incumbent will also assist in writing content for lab website and proposals for funding of new energy-related research endeavors in addition to reporting on results to donors and others.
