Work description

The project is structured into three sequential tasks:

1. Design delivery districts – Develop a model to divide a geographic area into a set of contiguous districts using historical data.

2. Base district sequencing – Use machine-learning methods to determine base district sequencing using historical data.

3. Route optimization – Inter district sequencing and intra districting stops sequencing optimization.

 

Academic Qualifications

Master in Industrial Engineering, Informatics Engineering, Computer Science or related area.

 

Minimum profile required

Experience in the following skill(s):

  1. Programming in Python.
  2. Analysis and implementation of optimization models
  3. Ability to work in group, high autonomy, and organization.
  4. Experience in routing problems.
  5. Knowledge of machine learning techniques.
  6. Advanced knowledge of English (spoken and written).

 

Maintenance stipend: € 1259,64, according to the table of monthly maintenance stipend for FCT grants , paid via bank transfer. Grant holders may be awarded potential supplements, according to a quarterly evaluation process (Articles 19, 21 and 22 of the Regulations for Grants of INESC TEC and Annex II), up to a maximum limit of 50% of the monthly maintenance stipend.

INESC TEC supports costs with registration, enrolment or tuition fees, during the grant duration, under the terms established in the internal document: "Payment of Tuition fees to grant holders".

 

The grant holder will benefit from health insurance, supported by INESC TEC.
