The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Memorial University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor in the area of materials engineering, with a specialization in one or more of the following areas: welding and metal joining processes, corrosion and materials characterization, metal forming processes, computational material analysis and additive manufacturing. This position is subject to budgetary approval.
Applicants should hold undergraduate and PhD degrees in mechanical engineering, or a cognate engineering area, with a proven ability for excellence in both teaching and research. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to register as a professional engineer in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Duties will include teaching a range of undergraduate and graduate courses, developing laboratory facilities, supervising graduate and undergraduate student research and undertaking an active, funded research program. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
