The Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track position in the area of Chemical Process Control and Chemical Process Integration. Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to, control of distributed systems of chemical plants, bioprocess control, control of renewable chemical processes, and the application of machine learning in chemical process control. The appointment is intended to be at the rank of Assistant Professor, but exceptional candidates at the Associate Professor level may also be considered. The successful candidate will join a newly established Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering and is expected to contribute to a vibrant and collaborative environment within and outside the Department.

Qualifications and assets
Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant Engineering discipline and have a background in Chemical Engineering. Membership or eligibility for membership in a Canadian professional engineering association, preferably in Quebec, is required. The candidate will conduct independent scholarly research, attract strong external funding and demonstrate industrial application of their research activities. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to the supervision of MASc and PhD students, and to excellence in teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The language of instruction at Concordia is English, however, knowledge of French is an asset.
