L’École de technologie supérieur (ÉTS) is a rapidly evolving university in engineering and technology located in downtown Montreal. ÉTS offers undergraduate and graduate programs focused on applied engineering as well as state-of-the-art research infrastructure. Our Systems Engineering Departement

The Systems Engineering Department offers multidisciplinary study programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels that are tailored to the needs of businesses regarding the optimization of operation and services, organization of work, digital transformation, computerization of production systems and industrial automatization. Courses are focused on the integration of computer and technological systems using mechanics, electronics and control, computer science and industrial engineering.

Regarding the Position

The Departement is seeking a professor in digital transformation. The candidate must possess general knowledge in the domain of industrial digital engineering, software engineering, information technology engineering or in automated manufacturing engineering and a graduate degree in digital transformation.

 

Your expertise must be oriented toward one or more of the following fields of research:

  • Digital transformation
  • Enterprises systems (CRM, ERP, MES, WMS, PLM, etc.),
  • Enterprise systems integration technologies (messaging, ESB, ETL, etc.)
  • Robotic process automation (RPA) technologies

You will be expected to demonstrate advanced skills and competencies in at least one of the following application areas: financial transactions, integrated supply chains, state change monitoring, manufacturing, etc. You will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to research and teaching excellence in undergraduate and graduate systems engineering programs. Your research activities must join those already in place in the areas of interest, making it possible to respond to the challenges of improving productivity in companies.

Depending on your expertise and research interest, you could join the team of the Numérix laboratory.

 

Job Description 

As part of the research team, the candidates sought will:

  • Teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in fields related to digital business
  • Mentor graduate students;
  • Complete grant and funding applications, particularly with provincial, federal or international agencies as well as with industrial partners, municipalities and foundations;
  • Carry out funded, potentially interdisciplinary research projects with local, national and international partners;
  • Develop a research program and courses related to digital transformation;
  • Ensure the dissemination of your research.

 

Requirements

  • Hold a Doctorate (PhD) in Engineering or in a relevant field for this position;
  • Be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or be eligible to join the OIQ and undertake the necessary steps to become a member before submitting an application for full professorship;
  • Have experience in conducting research in collaboration with industry or solid experience in industrial R&D;
  • Demonstrate excellent skills related to training highly-qualified personnel through research projects and teaching;
  • Be proficient in French (oral and written), in compliance with the ÉTS Language Policy (in French), or demonstrate a willingness to learn French and enter into a francization process with the support of ÉTS.

Compensation

This is a tenure-track position. The process and benefits will be determined in accordance with the applicable collective agreement  convention collective de l’Association des professeurs de l’ÉTS (APÉTS) .
