The infrastructure sensing & experimental mechanics (iSEM) lab in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Utah is seeking a highly self-motivated individual to work as a postdoctoral researcher. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in solid mechanics and machine learning. Specific knowledge of wave propagation, infrared thermography, machine learning, and metamaterials is preferred. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline. The postdoctoral researcher will work on experimental study and computational modeling of elastic wave, vibration, and heat transfer.
Interested candidates should apply to Professor Peter Zhu at firstname.lastname@example.org with a cover letter, detailed CV, a copy of a publication that is deemed representative of the candidate’s creative research, and names and email addresses of three references. Evaluation of candidates will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. The position is available starting June 2021.
