About Prof. Yaping Dan
Prof. Dan received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and held a Postdoctoral Fellow position at Harvard University. He was awarded the prestigious "National High-Level Scholars" Award from the Chinese central government. Dr. Dan is a full professor at the Joint Institute and a Fellow of Institute of Engineering and Technology, UK. Dr. Dan’s research focuses on semiconductor devices including photodetectors, light emitting diodes and metasurfaces.

Qualifications
The position involves materials characterizations (PL, Raman, etc), nanofabrication, magnetic and electronic measurements. The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D in electrical engineering, materials science and engineering, physics or another related field, preferably with the following skills:
- Hands-on experience in nanofabrication and materials characterizations
- Ability to independently conduct research.
- Knowledge of semiconductors, electronics and ferromagnetism.
- The ability to speak mandarin is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation includes an internationally competitive annual salary (~ 45,000 USD/year) and other standard fringe benefits.
