TENURE-TRACKFACULTYPOSITION IN ELECTRICAL & COMPUTERENGINEERING
The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Wyoming (UW) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in computer vision, machine learning, Internet of Things, or robotics. The position includes a competitive start up package. The position entails developing a new Computer Engineering Technology (CET) program, externally funded research/economic development activities, teaching at the undergraduate levels, and mentoring students. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field and must have experience in computer engineering.
The college has over 90 faculty members and offers eight ABET-accredited degree programs. The department has 13 faculty members and an enrollment of 250 undergraduate and 40 graduate students. Wyoming is an energy rich state with outreach development and research opportunities throughout the state, and this position is aimed at improving our CET.
UW is a thriving, land-grant research university with over 100 million dollars in research funding. It is the only state funded university in Wyoming and thus receives excellent support from the state. UW is located in Laramie, Wyoming, 130 miles northwest of Denver. Laramie is a picturesque and friendly town with reasonable cost of living and easy access to outdoor activities in the Rocky Mountain region.
