The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of South Alabama invites applications for a nine-month tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level starting in January 2020 semester. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or closely related discipline by the time of hire. The department is looking for candidates who can strengthen the core competencies and have expertise in areas including, but not limited to, digital IC design, embedded systems, computer security, machine intelligence, high performance computing, or other closely related research areas. Outstanding candidates in all areas of electrical and computer engineering are encouraged to apply. Applicants are expected to have a track record and ability to teach computer engineering core courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, communicate effectively, potential to establish and conduct sponsored research, and a strong publication record. The Electrical & Computer Engineering Department is housed in a 155,000 s.f. state-of-the-art building opened in 2012. The department offers BSEE and BSCpE which are accredited by ABET and MSEE degrees with computer engineering and system engineering tracks. The USA College of Engineering offers the Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) in Systems Engineering.
