Multiple PhD positions with fully financial support are available in 2022 Spring/2022 Fall in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Utah. The admitted PhD students are expected to work with Dr. Jianli Chen in the smart building and infrastructure management, including but not limited to building energy and airflow modeling, urban energy management and smart control, renewable energy integration, sensing techniques, artificial intelligence, and advanced infrastructure management. The research will be interdisciplinary by nature. Students with backgrounds of Architectural Engineering and Building Science, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or strong energy modeling/data processing background are all welcome to apply.
