The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA invites applications for a faculty position (Associate or Full Professor) in the area of Mechanical Engineering. Candidates who have expertise in design or other innovative, emergent areas are of particular interest.However, outstanding candidates in all areas of mechanical engineering will be considered.
We seek visionary individuals who will participate in departmental governance and contribute to the advancement of our research and educational missions, while maintaining their own strong, externally funded, sustainable research program.
The applicants must hold a doctoral degree in mechanical engineering. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching/advising, a national/international record of sponsored research, and a history of impactful departmental leadership. Candidates at the full professor level must possess superior leadership skills and experience applicable to leading an educational unit and/or large research program.
The department is committed to delivering a high-quality curriculum to an increasingly diverse student population. The department currently offers programs leading to the BS, MS, and combined BS+MS degrees in mechanical engineering, has eight full-time faculty members, numerous adjunct faculty, and approximately 160 undergraduates and 30 MS graduate students.
