The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.
Intra-operative imaging is an exciting and intriguing field at the intersection of engineering, optics, and biomedicine. Whether at the bedside or in the operating room, real-time, image based diagnosis of disease has the potential to greatly enhance patient care. The Research Fellow will join a new research group at NTU developing miniaturized medical imaging technology. The staff will take a leading role in the management of technology deployment projects with local hospitals, and initiate new research directions with relevance to translational medicine and biology.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Lead the development of new technologies and approaches for translational medicine and biology
-
Initiate new multidisciplinary collaborations with scientists, engineers and clinicians
-
Supervise junior researchers and interns in the laboratory
-
Propose new research directions and seek funding opportunities through grant proposals
Job Requirements:
-
PhD in biomedical engineering or chemistry/biology or relevant technical field is required.
-
At least 3+ years of experience and expertise in biomedical microscopy and imaging is required (e.g. confocal, multi-photon, light-sheet microscopy, electron microscopy etc.) preferably demonstrated through their doctoral work and publications.
