Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno, Department of Electrical and Biomedical Engineering is seeking candidates for a full-time Postdoctoral Scholar position with a preferred start date of 7/1/2023. Position is offered for an initial term of 1 year with opportunity for extension, and is contingent upon funding. Candidates with experience in the development of wireless power transfer and energy harvesting systems, skills in graphene, antennas, electronics, cellular phone systems, IoT communications, additive manufacturing of electronics, 3d printer ink design, waveguide and fiber devices, PCB fabrication, SMT pick and place, and electronics chip design at microwave and THz frequencies are encouraged to apply.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • Completion of a doctoral degree in the appropriate discipline is required.

  • The doctoral degree must have been completed within the five years immediately preceding the first date of appointment as a postdoctoral fellow at the University.

  • The individual cannot have held previous positions in the professional ranks.

  • The applicant must have working knowledge of microwave engineering, antennas, noise, heat radiation, and electronics. The applicant should have good written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to work independently and in a group.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • A strong publication record and presentation experience at industry conferences

  • Industry work experience and proven ability to lead technical teams
