Breakthrough Electrolytes for Energy Storage (BEES) Center at Case Western Reserve University is looking to hire a post-doctoral researcher with chemical engineering or relevant background with demonstrated ingenuity, productivity, ability to work in a diverse, high-energy environment. BEES center specializes in energy storage and novel electrolytes (e.g., deep eutectic solvents and soft nanoparticles). Projects at BEES involve chemical synthesis and characterization using thermal analysis, advanced spectroscopy, scattering and electrochemistry techniques to name a few.
PhD degree from chemistry, chemical engineering or equivalent
Proven track record in high quality publications
Effective communication skills
Preference will be given to individuals with one or more of the following background/experience: organic chemical synthesis, ionic liquids, deep eutectic solvents, non-aqueous electrolytes, redox chemistry, flow batteries, physicochemical property measurements, instrument design and setup
Strong analytical thinking, creative problem solving abilities, dependable, productive, highly motivated, hands-on and self-initiative personality
Enthusiasm in research, willingness to work with others, and interest in mentorship
Determination and dedication to be involved in high-impact journal publications
