The Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering (CSSE) invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions. We seek candidates at the Assistant Professor level, although outstanding candidates at a senior level will also be considered. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications. Responsibilities include research, graduate student supervision, graduate and undergraduate teaching, and service. Selected candidates will be expected to develop research collaborations with faculty in other disciplines who are part of the AI@AU Initiative (
https://eng.auburn.edu/ai-au/) , leading to extramurally funded projects. CSSE has started enrolling students in a new MS in Artificial Intelligence Engineering program this fall. Selected candidates will be expected to teach core courses in this program, and to develop new undergraduate and graduate courses in AI. A PhD degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field must be completed by the start of appointment. Prior experience as faculty or postdoctoral scholar or in industry is desirable. Applicants must have the potential to develop a vigorous externally funded research program and a commitment to teaching. There is no application deadline. However, applications received by January 31, 2025 are guaranteed full consideration. The application review continue until successful candidates are identified. Successful candidates must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the term of employment.
