To this end, the Australian College of Kuwait seeks experienced faculty members that are keen to be part of this dynamic institution that match above-mentioned academic rank to join the Civil Engineering Department commencing August 11, 2019. However, in the case of a truly exceptional candidate, an appointment at the rank of Professor may also be considered.
Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree in Civil Engineering and an earned doctorate in Civil Engineering, specialized in the area of Water or Environmental Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Structural Mechanics, or equivalent areas. The successful candidate must have exceptional teaching and research qualifications in structural engineering. The successful candidate will demonstrate an independent, externally funded research agenda of dynamic, critical and applied scholarly/creative research. He/she will be expected to provide evidence of high-quality teaching at the undergraduate level, to supervise students’ projects, to participate in other educational, scholarly and professional activities, to liaise with industry, and to undertake research and publish in scholarly journals of structural engineering/mechanics and numerical modeling. Synergy to establish collaborative research links with the existing members of the Department and across the School/College is highly desirable. The successful candidate will possess the demonstrated capacity to engage in collaboration and collegial service.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- A PhD in relevant field preferably with experience in university teaching, research or serving the professional industry;
- Industry exposure through research, consultancy, or professional activities;
- Scholarly publications in international specialized journals;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English Language; and
- The ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
