The Oregon Institute of Technology Electrical Engineering and Renewable Energy department seeks applicants for a full time, 9-month, tenure track Electrical Engineering faculty position on the Klamath Falls campus. Preferred position start date is September 2020. Primary responsibilities will include the development and teaching of both courses and laboratories in electrical engineering. The successful candidate will teach electrical engineering fundamentals courses, and will have expertise primarily in the area of embedded systems, with experience in microcontrollers, IoT, and AI which can be applied to advanced undergraduate and master’s-level courses. Candidates should be able to develop curriculum materials including laboratory activities, evaluate student achievement and assess curriculum effectiveness. Responsibilities will also include program development and assessment, student recruitment, advising, supervising student projects, and other assigned duties related to and in support of the mission, goals and strategic objectives of the program and university. Faculty are expected to actively engage in scholarly work which may include but is not limited to the development of industry collaboration with focus on applied research, participation in professional organizations, publications, presentations, professional development and continuing education.
A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required. Additionally, a doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline, or master’s degree plus three years industry experience in embedded systems, AI, or IoT is required. A track record of or evidence of potential for academic excellence, particularly in teaching, is required.
